Hempstead Valley celebrating 40 years 1978 - 2018
Join us on Saturday 20th October to celebrate Hempstead Valley's 40th birthday!
M&S area
From 10am until 11am Phil Gallagher, star of the award winning CBeebies' Mister Maker show will be meeting and greeting families, in conjunction with the KM Charity Team.
From 12pm until 4pm, Andy Walker from kmfm will be hosting retro game show fun and competitions.
At 2pm the Mayor of Medway will be cutting our large birthday cake.
Display of vintage fashion, toys and memorabilia from the 70s and 80s.
Sign our giant 40 numbers and enter a competition in conjunction with the kmfm Street Team
Record your memories in our ‘nostalgia’ book.
We will be fundraising for One Great Day. All money raised will be equally divided between Demelza Hospice Care for Children and Great Ormond Street.
Hempstead Valley staff will be dressed up in their bright suits from approx 11am and will be collecting donations.
Boots area - Reminisce over archive photos from the late 70s
From Monday 15th until 22nd October there will be an exhibition of archive photos and plans from Medway Council archives, alongside Hempstead Valley's collection of vintage images and press cuttings.
Argos mall - look to the future
We will be looking to the future of Hempstead Valley and we will be displaying plans of the approved expansion of the centre. Local school children will be showcasing their ideas of the future of Hempstead Valley.
